Web design and development is more than just putting a website on the Internet. Effective web design uses color, fonts, images and layout to capture an emotion and get your customers excited. It's understanding what drives your clients. It's knowing when to keep things simple and when adding more will help.
Business and individuals often think that the more eye-candy there is on a web site (animated imagery, chirps, graphics and music) the more effective their site is. In fact, these things can be distracting and cause a customer to get frustrated and leave.
Navigation is also extremely important to a site. Most people who search on-line do not look past the first couple of pages in a website before they decide whether or not that site is useful to them. Your homepage should let visitors know what your site has to offer. Links to further information should be clearly labeled, organized, and prominent on the page. Your customers should be able to easily find the information they want.
A poorly designed web site can actually repel your target customers or clients, instead of bringing them in for more information. Before even reading about your products, your customers may immediately see your company as being unprofessional, disorganized, or at worst color blind.
Most people design a website to their own tastes, but it takes a designer with a solid marketing and business writing background to design a site for the customer. Creativity, ease of use, professionalism and clarity all influence a customer's purchasing decision. An effective design will draw your customers in and inspire them to do business with you.
Jeff and Cynthia have years of experience in copywriting and content development. We know where the pitfalls are in site development and how to avoid them. Armed with this knowledge, we can move your website in the right direction, keeping you safe from the whole range of website horrors you could encounter elsewhere.
Content is all wording, pictures, product listings that will be contained in your website. It also includes key search words that all the search engines use to locate your site. Other elements are: photos, drawings, and graphics elements. We develop content with you as a partner to insure that both the content and the technical issues are well covered.
Design Consultation - We will gather background information on your business, your target market and your goals. Based on this information, several design possibilities will be presented. You, and Jeff or Cynthia will discuss the options and make creative decisions based on the best way to reach your target audience and accomplish your marketing needs. These decisions will be reflected in both the design of the site and the navigational system that operates the site.
We'll develop a full proposal and quotation after our no-charge consultation. This will include suggested color scheme, navigation methods, photographs (needs or development) and artwork; all based on your inputs. Included with this proposal is a quotation based on all the information provided.
